Sometimes the software problem is actually an operating-model problem
A digital system often exposes ambiguity that manual work had been hiding.
When a platform asks who can approve, when a status changes, who can see a record or what happens when a rule is breached, the organisation has to answer questions that spreadsheets and email may have allowed it to avoid.
That is why apparently simple software projects can become difficult. The technology is forcing operating-model decisions into the open.
Good product design does not hide that tension. It uses it to make ownership, decision rights and exceptions clearer.
